Did everyone have a great Memorial Day weekend? Shane and I spent time in NY for the week and then ventured over to CT for a couple days for a wedding. We had such a nice, relaxing week overall (even with all the hustle and bustle in the city.) On our last day in the city, we had some gorgeous weather. I’m talking about summer shorts weather. Since we were doing a little walking around and touring, I reached for one of my favorite new casual looks from Express
I’m gonna let y’all in on a little secret. Express
was my absolute jam in high school. I spent more money there than at any other store. These were the 90’s y’all. I’m talking about they had the best fitting jeans for school and skirts and tank tops for date night. If you would have told me back then I would be working with Express one day, I would have thought you had lost your mind! Fast forward a couple years to college, and I opened my first credit card ever. That’s right, at Express. I was ready for a more mature wardrobe complete with office appropriate looks for my job and for classes. I’m pretty sure that almost my entire closet consisted of Express.
Well, thank goodness my style has changed a little over the years (goodbye skintight black pants and crop tops.) And so has Express’ style. Express isn’t your old store you used to shop at in high school anymore. They have something for everyone. Looking for casual clothing that is perfect for the mom on the go? They’ve got it. But they also have great new trendy pieces for date night, going out, dressier pieces for events or even classic or more professional pieces for work. Seriously, Express has everything. I even picked up a super cute polo shirt for Shane from Express. I love when I can shop for both of us in one store.
I have been looking for some black denim shorts for a while now. I spotted these shorts
online at Express and love the frayed and destructed look of them. They run true to size and are perfect to get you through summer. And since y’all know I have a gingham obsession, I just had to pick up this button back top
. It has the cutest little bows on each sleeve and buttons all the way up the back. This Yay Weekend hat
I will basically be living in every weekend this summer; how could I not?! And these sandals
are definitely the perfect pair for summer. They can be dressed down like I did with this outfit today, or they can be dressed up with pretty lightweight summer dresses.
