The Benefits of a Smart Thermostat in Your Home

Y’all may know that Leighton and I moved into our home about a year and a half ago. Since then, I have been making minor updates here and there. And some of those updates have been to make my home more “smart” and user friendly and to save money while doing it! I finally made a change I had been planning on making for a while now and added a smart thermostat!

Thanks to Honeywell Home, we recently got the chance to test out the Honeywell Home T9 Smart Thermostat, and so far we have been loving it! There are tons of benefits to adding a smart thermostat in your home, but the biggest ones for me are being able to adjust my thermostat whether I’m home or gone and the energy savings from when I’m gone. The Honeywell Home T9 Smart Thermostat has lots of really cool features that do just that!

You can even add Smart Room Sensors where you want to see each room’s temperature and humidity. You can use the multi-room display on the thermostat’s touch screen or in the app to easily focus on rooms either based on their occupancy or according to a specific schedule you
choose. It’s easy to set up your smart thermostat on a schedule so it is always at an energy efficient temperature when nobody is home and the heat or air isn’t being utilized. This saves you so much money! Who doesn’t love that?

If you decide to focus on occupancy, you will love these “smart” features. When focused on multiple rooms, the T9 will work towards creating an average temperature, balancing the needs across the whole home. And when you’re gone or moving around the house, the Honeywell
Home T9 Smart Thermostat will adjust the temperature to keep your home comfortable while saving energy in the other areas of the house.

And with the T9’s individual sensors, each person can customize how they like to sleep at night! How cool is that?! (no pun intended ;)) This might be one of the coolest features of this smart thermostat. Leighton’s room gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer, and I’m always so worried about her getting too hot or too cold. Meanwhile, I love the temperature cool at night while I’m trying to sleep.

Since Leighton and I travel SO much, having a smart thermostat that we could operate and adjust the temperature remotely was really important to me. With connection to your smartphone, Amazon’s Alexa, Google Assistant and more, you can adjust your home temperature even when you’re not at home! I love being able to adjust it while I’m gone depending on the temperature outside and how long I’ll be gone.

The T9 is well-laid out, so it’s super easy to use and understand! Leighton has even learned how to turn the thermostat up and down!
