I’ve recently made a few little updates to my primary bathroom like changing out our light fixtures. These look much more glamorous and elevated than the previous ones that were already rusting in our new home. After changing out light fixtures out, I added the cutest little ottoman in front of my bathroom vanity. I love doing my hair and makeup here so it really comes in handy, but I also love how the pretty velvet tufted ottoman looks in this space.

Shortly after we moved in, I updated the builder grade mirrors in the bathrooms by having them framed. It was so easy, quick and inexpensive, but it makes it look so much nicer. It is definitely an upgraded detail that adds that special touch. And I feel like it goes so well with the lighting and the other hardware in here.

Next I added a bench in front of the clawfoot tub. I love it, and honestly it is so practical too. I put my clothing on it for the day, sit my stuff for the bath on it, and I even use it to put my shoes on. It not only looks good; it makes sense. It just adds a little something to that space. I really want to find a rug to add here too, but it’s been hard with the dimensions of this space. It is very long, but it is super wide so I’m still looking for the perfect one for this space. I think it will add even more visual interest and some fun pops of color and pattern in here. And it will also be super practical because this tile is still really slippery. And of course all 3 of the kids only want to take showers in our bathroom still lol. = )

I added a few hooks over by the tub and hung up towels. Again, practical, but also adds more visual interest to our bathroom. Our bathroom is really neutral with lots of gray and white, so I am trying to add more details in here to make it stand out. Slowly but surely it’s really getting there. We are in no hurry to get all our rooms finished to our liking. We are just taking our time and saving money and updating as we go. It’s been such a fun process decorating our home over the past 5 years. We are working on the living room next, and I can’t wait to share pictures of that soon. In the meantime, what do you think about the bathroom updates?
