Our Favorite Hotel in Oklahoma City for a Couple’s Getaway – Fordson Hotel

I’ve been staying here for 10 years now, and my favorite hotel in OKC is still Fordson Hotel. Matt and I stayed here with the kids for Valentine’s weekend. It might not have been a typcial romantic weekend away, but it was just perfect for us with the kids. The hotel is so unique from the moment you pull up outside. Years ago it was a Ford Motor Company plant. After that it was an art museum hotel, and today it is Fordson Hotel. They blended the rich history with modern decor and luxuries so well. When you step inside, it has the cutest sitting area over by the front desk. On the bottom level of the hotel, there is art throughout. It is quite the experience when visiting Fordson!

As soon as we took the elevator up to our floor and stepped off, we were greeted with huge, wide hallways and art throughout. It is definitely not your typical hotel. When we got to our room, there is a huge sitting area as soon as you walk in and floor to ceiling windows on two of the walls. There are 2 tvs, a spa like bathroom with a tub in the shower, a super comfy king sized bed and a coffee maker and mini fridge. All of their rooms are so spacious!

Behind the front desk is a gift shop, the Pool Bar & Bodega and Mary Eddy’s. Our first night at the hotel, we placed a to go order at Bodega. We all got burgers, and Grayson and I still say these are the best burgers we have ever had! The next night we had dinner at Mary Eddy’s. It is an Italian grill and is so good! It was the perfect place to spend Valentine’s night eating dinner. We had the kids with us, and they were so friendly and accommodating to them and even made them special kids menus. It was a great experience, and dinner was amazing. Our last morning, we had brunch there too. I got the salmon lox on gluten free bread. It was topped with arugula and honey, and I have still been craving it each day.

Even though this hotel is our favorite for couple’s getaways, the kids had a blast here too. They loved the spacious rooms, the art throughout and the pool. They have an outdoor heated pool, and the kids loved spending the last morning there. It was the perfect way to end out trip this weekend. Every corner of this hotel is so special and have such a neat story to tell. If you are in the Oklahoma City area anytime, I 100% recommend staying here. We have a few favorite hotels in the area, but this one definitely ranks up there because it is just so chic, unique and filled with history. Have you been to Fordson Hotel before?
