About The Memphian Hotel Memphis
Located in the heart of Overton Square in Midtown Memphis, The Memphian Hotel is a boutique hotel that blends modern design with local character in a way that feels really elevated and lively at the same time. You’re just steps away from some of the best restaurants, live music and more. It’s part of the appeal—you can explore Memphis easily, but you’ll actually want to spend time here, too. Overton Square is a super walkable area with tons of different restaurants and stores. Whether you’re a local or an out of towner, I highly recommend staying at the hotel and checking out Overton Square. It’s such a fun area!

The Rooms: Elevated, Comfortable, and Thoughtfully Designed
One of the first things you notice about The Memphian is how intentional everything feels, especially in the rooms. Each space is designed with:
- Clean, modern interiors with artistic and colorful details
- Comfortable beds that feel like a true retreat after a long day
- Large windows that bring in natural light
- Unique touches that make the space feel more personal than standard
- A large water refill station outside of rooms with reusable bottles inside

Dining + Drinks at The Memphian
One of the highlights of staying here is that you don’t even have to leave the property for a great meal or drink. Seriously, it has some of my favorite dining and hangout spots right here in Memphis!
Complicated Pilgrim
The hotel’s signature restaurant, Complicated Pilgrim, offers a creative take on Southern-inspired dishes in a space that feels warm and elevated. Don’t let the name fool you. Their menu screams anything but hotel restaurant. Everything I have ever ordered here has been nothing short of great. I love dining here for breakfast and dinner, and they also make great lattes.
Tiger and Peacock
The rooftop bar is one of the best spots in Memphis for the views and the vibes. Tiger and Peacock has a vibrant, eclectic feel with sweeping views of the city, making it perfect for sunset drinks or a night out without ever leaving the hotel. You can sit indoors or out. They have a huge bar inside, and they have a great great menu with small bites. They have recently extended their food menu, and it’s so good! This is our favorite spot in Memphis for a night out.

What Makes The Memphian Hotel Different?
There are plenty of hotels in Memphis, but this one stands out in a few key ways. First, it’s the location. Being right in Overton Square means you’re within walking distance to restaurants, theaters, and nightlife, which makes your entire stay feel effortless. It’s a great way to explore the city. Then there’s the design. It doesn’t feel cookie-cutter or predictable. Every space has personality, from the lobby to the rooms to the rooftop. The eclectic and colorful decor really stands out. This is a hotel that you will actually WANT to spend time in.
