School is back in full swing for most everyone now. Leighton is in preschool, but I still have to pack her lunch every single day. And let me tell you, it’s harder than it looks. Sometimes I start to feel like I’m packing her the exact same thing everyday, and you know we would be bored if we ate the same thing day in and day out! So I’ve been trying to mix it up lately and find more school lunch ideas.
Fun School Lunch Ideas to Make it More Exciting
Babbleboxx sent me some great products this month, and I’m excited to share them with you today! First up is Shipt. Shipt is a super convenient same-day shopping experience that only costs $49 a year for free, unlimited delivery on grocery orders of more than $35. Members can easily browse, search and shop the in-store assortment of products from their app. You can note any product preferences, choose a one-hour delivery window and pay for your order, all within the Shipt app.
I was a little hesitant the first time I used Shipt, but it was SO easy! I was able to shop by category, and there was even an option to shop by specials. All my favorite products that I typically buy for Leighton were there, and they were honestly easy to find. I had my shopping cart filled in less than 5 minutes, and I bought over $100 of groceries. So, it took a lot less than it would have in the grocery store. When I used it a couple of weeks ago, it was pouring down raining and I needed groceries, but I didn’t have much time that night and I didn’t want to get out, so they were delivered right to my door just a couple hours later in the delivery window that I selected. If you haven’t tried it yet, I promise you just have to. It’s too easy and convenient not to!
Leighton loves rice, so I was excited to try out Lundberg’s Rice Pilaf and Quinoa Blend. It is made with quality ingredients like organic white rice and organic American-grown quinoa. They are vegan-friendly, USDA organic, non-GMO and gluten-free verified. And the best part is they are so easy and convenient to prepare in 20 minutes or less. I cooked the Rice Pilaf and added ham and cheese in it (Leighton loves ham and cheese!), and she actually ate it. This was a victory for me y’all! She had it for dinner, and there was plenty leftover to put in a container for Leighton to eat at lunch later that week at school too.
I cooked the Rosemary Olive Oil Quinoa Blend for myself and added broccoli to have some vegetables. It was SO good! And it took hardly any time. Lundberg’s rice and quinoa entrees are great for the entire family whether you’re eating it for dinner or packing it for lunch the next day.
Eat Pre. This was probably one of my most exciting new brands to try. Let’s face it, I’m a Southern girl and I love my meat. All Pre beef is grass fed and finished, sourced from nutrient-rich pastures and raised with care, with no added antibiotics and no added hormones. I received 1 chuck roast, 85% lean ground beef, 95% lean ground beef and 2 steaks. Honestly, these were some of the best tasting steaks I’ve ever had! And I used the ground beef to make sloppy joes for Leighton, and she was just as happy with it as I was with my steak. = )
Right now Eat Pre is offering 10% off on all online orders through October 31 with the code WIMIHH. I definitely don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I feel like it’s always so hard to find good beef, but Eat Pre is my new place for steaks. If you end up trying it, make sure you come back here and let me know what you thought about it!
And last but not least is Leighton’s favorite part, the snack that I pack in her lunchbox each day. MadeGood produces delicious, healthy granola bars, granola minis, crispy squares and soft baked cookies in a facility free from the 8 most common allergens: peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, dairy, egg, soy, sesame, fish and shellfish. They are organic, gluten-free and non-GMO project verified.
Leighton’s favorite MadeGood product so far has been the chocolate banana granola minis. They’re great for school since they are allergy free, and kids love them. Heck, I even love them and took one to work with me this week for a snack. I personally love the apple cinnamon!
If you’ve been having a hard time packing your picky kid’s school lunch lately, it might be time to mix it up a little. I always start with a fun lunchbox that your child will love, and I also add a sweet or funny note or drawing some days. Try mixing up their meals and snacks so they don’t get bored. Always try something at least a few times to give them a chance to try it. And lastly, add a treat. They’re only kids once. = ) If you’ve tried Shipt, Eat Pre, Lundberg or MadeGood products, let me know what you think! They all made it so much easier and more convenient to pack Leighton’s school lunch. And if you have any great tips about packing school lunches or mixing up their school lunch ideas to make it interesting, leave them in the comments below. = )

My oh my how far school lunches have come haha! Even though we don’t have kids, I find myself getting in food ruts and don’t get excited about what we’re cooking at home, so I’m sure you can feel that way with school lunches! Sometimes you gotta mix it up!

I’ve used Shipt several times and I really like it! Even though they charge a bit more for the groceries, it’s totlaly worth it for the convenience factor.
