Best Outdoor Activities in Memphis
.) Explore the Memphis Zoo. One of the best zoos around, there is so much to do here! They just renovated the cafe, so make sure to grab lunch while you’re there. On top of all the animals, they also just added a new outdoor train and a splash pad a couple years ago. They even have an outdoor playground for the kids!
.) Play both indoors and out at The Children’s Museum of Memphis. They just recently renovated the toddler area, and it is great! There is so much to do here for kids of all ages with tons of hands-on interactive fun. And when they are ready for a break, head outside to the playground, zipline and splash pad too.
.). Splash around at a Splash Park. We love the one in Collierville at Johnson Park, but there are several around the city you can visit, including one t the Memphis Zoo. Take a little bucket, and they will be sure to have hours of fun!
.) Take a stroll at Memphis Botanic Garden and grab lunch there. We love coming here all year long! They have a great little cafe inside where you can sit indoors or out to eat. On some days, Mempops is even there. You can stroll the gardens outdoors, check out the new tropical plant house and play in My Big Backyard. Make sure you also check out their Live at the Concert lineup to take kids to and their Food Truck Garden Party.
.). Play on the playground at Shelby Farms Park. One of the best playgrounds around, you won’t want to miss this one. With swings, slides, sands, tunnels and more, the fun never ends. You can also go ziplining, paddleboating, stand-up paddleboarding, horseback riding, hiking, cycling and more. You can even stop by the coffee shop or grab lunch or dinner while there too.
.) Go see a Memphis Redbirds baseball game. This is always a favorite for our kids! They love watching the game, running around and playing and getting ice cream. And it’s fun for the adults too!
.) Explore Mud Island Park. Play in the water while here or explore inside at the museum too. Pack a picnic, and it’s such a fun family day!
