This Week in Photos + Tennessee Blogger Linkup

I haven’t done a “This Week in Photos” post in months, so today is perfect for one in conjuction with the Tennessee Bloggers Linkup.Β  Today’s theme for the linkup is what are you looking forward to most this fall?Β  Fall is mine and Shane’s favorite time of the year.Β  It’s when we met, when we remet and when we got engaged.Β  There is something about that feeling in the air just takes me back and makes me want to listen to Led Zeppelin nonstop.Β  Fall also seems to be a big wedding season for ourΒ friends and family members this year.Β  The changing of the seasons also makes us want to get out more and try different things and new restaurants.Β  Over the past week,Β I had aΒ lot of good food (that is not very healthy) andΒ have had some good nights out with friends.Β  You may have seen a couple of these pictures on Instagram, but most of theseΒ are new from the past week.
Last weekend was my good friend Janessa’sΒ bridal shower.Β  We had tacos to eat, margaritas to drink andΒ a fun game that involved Facebook statuses over the last 5 years.Β  ItΒ was so goodΒ getting to see this group of girls again!
On Tuesday, weΒ picked up a to go order from Tugs.Β  We didn’t even realize it, but it is Elvis week.Β  I couldn’t resist getting the “Hound Dog” and the banana pudding.Β Β I’m still wishing I would have gotten a peanut butter and banana sandwich too.Β  WednesdayΒ night Shane and I finally tried Trolley StopΒ Market for the first time!Β Β It is definitely more of a lunch type place, but we really ended up liking it anyway.Β Β We started with spinach and artichoke dip and Las Delicias chips.Β  It was good, but not the best I’ve ever had.Β  My favorite was the BLT & pimento cheese sandwich (yes this is one sandwich not two!), and this is coming from someone who has never even like pimeno cheese.Β  Shane tried the philly on a hoagie and loved it.Β  IΒ tried aΒ couple bites too, and I can definitely agree.Β Β You can never go wrong with peach cobbler, and this one did not disappoint.Β  I can honestly say I have been craving that BLT & pimento cheese sandwich all day today too!
Thursday night my good blogger friend AJΒ was in town, so we just had to meet up at Aldo’s and sit on the patio.Β Β AJ was sweet enough to treat me to theΒ Memphis pizza (my favorite!)Β  Do you see a theme here?Β Β A week full of food that will require me to workout A LOT next week.
My friend and photographer is moving and is staying busy with that process.Β  At the same time, my backupΒ camera girl and sister-in-law isΒ getting ready to go to the beach, so you will have to bear with me over the next couple of weeks.Β  I bought a Sony NEX-5N a few months ago and have not been that impressed with it, so I sold it on eBay recently and am looking for a new camera.Β  I prefer one with a great zoom on it.Β  I have been looking at some of the smart cameras and am thinking it would be nice to be able to automatically upload my pictures via wi-fi to my laptop and myΒ iPhone.Β  Has anyone triedΒ a smart camera before?Β  I still haven’t gotten up the nerve (or money) to buy a DSLR yet.Β  Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice middle of the road camera that is still compact but good quality?Β  What are you looking forward to most this fall?

  1. YAY! That's me!!! I love the photo update. And WOOHOO for an awesome week of food! Keep me posted on the camera situation, I still want to sell mine and get something better. I just want to decide what to buy before I try to sell mine because I don't have any back ups!

  2. Yay for link ups! I love fall. It's my favorite season by far. Summer is great, but especially here in Memphis it can be pretty rough! Although the past few days it's been gorgeous! πŸ™‚

I've heard amazing reviews on the Samsung Galaxy Camera – it's basically the Galaxy S4 but with an amazing camera lens! It is super pricy at $450, so equivalent to a DSLR cost, but one of the best features I've seen/read about is the zoom. Other than that I haven't hated any Cannon point & shoot cameras I've had!

  3. Aww my hubby and I also started dating in the fall, got engaged in the fall and we got married in the fall, so it's a pretty special time for us too!

P.S. All those yummy looking food pictures just made me super hungry! haha

  4. Looks like you had a fun week! I'd love to get more details on that facebook status game… two of my close friends just got engaged so I know there will be lotsa party planning coming up!

My BF got me a Canon Powershoot SX260. It's kind of a happy medium between a regular point and shoot and a DSLR due to the advanced features. I love it so far and is a good stepping stone before I finally make the splurge on a DSLR! (Plus it's under $200!)
