It’s Tuesday, but I’m posting like it’s Monday today. I hope everyone had a great weekend! It was tax free weekend in Tennessee so I did some shopping at Marshalls on Friday and Saturday. I found WAY too many cute shoes – wedges, t-straps, booties, sandals and pumps. I ended up leaving with a black pair of Nine West booties, a nude and black pair of ankle-strap BCBGeneration pumps and a black and cobalt printed French Connection Top – and all under $100. It was definitely a success, and I can wear them all to work and out. Last week we were craving Mexican food almost every night, so we finally made it over to
Happy Mexican downtown. Their guacamole was amazing, and the grilled shrimp salad was even better. It looked like a gourmet salad when they brought it out. I was pleasantly surprised. I love
Las Delicias too, and they have wonderful guacamole also, but I think as far as entrees go, Happy Mexican has a bigger selection. I would definitely recommend either place for Mexican food in Memphis though. Yum!
Shane decided to work half a day on Saturday, so we decided to have lunch together when he finished. We went to Hooters in Horn Lake, and it was just as good as always. You must get the buffalo shrimp. That and the buffalo chicken sandwich is the best hands down. On Sunday we had a full day of parties – our cousins’ wedding shower and then Shane’s grandpa’s birthday party. It was a busy day, but it was nice getting to spend it with both of our families. Do you have a tax free weekend in your state? Any good restaurant recommendations in Memphis? Did you pull out your metallic today and linkup?

A tax free weekend? That sounds amazing but Michigan doesn't have them. BOOOOO! I love Hooters, unfortunately I haven't been there in a few years.

I love the subtle Metallics here. Great Yellow Blouse, I like it paired with a Yellow Necklace. Love your Clutch & Skirt, too,
I am in LOVE with that clutch!
We never have tax free anything in Canada.
bisous

Our favorites were Beauty Shop, Blue Monkey (lunch), Bluefin, Itta Bena, Huey's (downtown or Midtown), Cozy Corner, Bhan Thai (which I know you mentioned in another post) and Bar-B-Q Shop. We loved Corky's too, but only during "off hours" so no tourist. Gus'(downtown of course) is also one of our favs. Beer at Boscos and pizza at Memphis Pizza Café (or Movie & Pizza if we didn't leave the Island). Tsunami is where we had our first date and we love the bar & food there. The bar at Alchemy is really nice too. Whew–lots of recs. Even though we have only been gone for a year, this is making me miss Memphis. –Kendall @kendallwelder (twitter)
