Surely Veteran's day should be about remembrance, rather than indulgence… just seems a strange idea from a British point of view.
It is absolutely about remembrance, but just like any holiday, there are always sales that stores run to celebrate. Just as strange as stores offering discounts to go shopping on Christmas when celebrating the Lord's birthday. = )
