8 Family Things to Do in Nashville, TN + Gaylord Opryland 2 Night Stay & SoundWaves Giveaway!!

8 Family Things to Do in Nashville, TN, featured by top US travel blog, Walking in Memphis in High Heels

Happy Monday! I am SO excited about today’s post because we just love Nashville! It is only 3 hours away from Memphis, so it’s been a great vacation destination for Leighton and I for years.

We have been going to Nashville for as long as I can remember, and the same goes for Gaylord Opryland too! It has been so fun to bring Leighton each year since she was born so she can experience all the fun! And now there is even more fun to be had!

In case you didn’t know it, Gaylord Opryland opened its first indoor/outdoor upscale water attraction last year. It is 4 acres and is HUGE! It has everything from lazy rivers to a wave pool to 11 water slides and more. It is perfect not just for kids but the entire family. They even have adults-only areas.

Me, Leighton, my mom, sister and my niece finally got to check it out a couple of weeks ago, and let me tell you, it is amazing! There is SO much to do there! Leighton’s favorite things were the lazy rivers and the kids slide/play area inside. Even when it was raining and cloudy outside, we still got to have plenty of fun indoors at the water attraction!

In addition to SoundWaves, there are so many amazing things that Nashville has to offer. You might remember me sharing my favorite things to do in Nashville in the winter here and fall here, but today’s post is all about the kid friendly things to do this summer. = ) Check them out and schedule your Nashville summer vacation before the kids are back in school. = )

P.S. Keep reading below to enter to win a 2 night stay at Gaylord Opryland and 4 SoundWaves passes!

  11. Looking forward to relaxing with my children at Soundwaves! They will be grown and gone so fast, need to slow down and just be for a few days!

  12. I’ve been wanting to go to soundwaves since it opened! This would be a great opportunity to take my daughters for a fun outting before they start Kindergarten and 2nd grade!

  13. I have been literally dying to take my family to sound waves. Water is all of our favorite thing and we are missing the east coast dearly. We want/need some good unplugged family time! Good luck to all! Xo!

  14. The Gaylord Opryland has 18 restaurants and what can I say…A girl loves to eat! And that Indoor/Outdoor adults only area sounds like complete R E L A X A T I O N!

  23. Tracy Suzanne DeLoach

It’s been at least 19 years since we’ve been to Opryland and it would be so fun to see how much it’s changed. I’m most looking forward to to Soundwaves Lazy River.

  24. We have never been here but started looking into it about a year ago of places we want to go. We would absolutely love the Soundwaves Park as a family. The water slides look amazing and Up Tempo Rapids River is right up my alley with the kids. I love that it has the Quarter Note Cove for little ones and the Half Note Cove for a little older kids so that I would feel better about where my kids may be if I cam not right with one of them. The Down Tempo Lazy River is just what my husband needs to learn to unwind a little bit and take a breather. The hotel itself looks beautiful.

  25. I think the most exciting thing would be eating at the Aquarium and watching the Mystic Mermaids swim in the water…I would LOVE to see that and ask them about their job…a job that seems really cool!!!
