How to Transition Your Child’s Room to a Big Kid Room with a Desenio Gallery Wall – Part 2

Y’all might remember me recently talking about updating Leighton’s room earlier this year. We framed her bathroom mirror, and then in the summer, we got her a trundle bed too. Before we knew it, we woke up and she was 6. And now…she’s 7! Lately she has been wanting to really get into her role as big sister and give away a bunch of toys and bedroom decor to Amelia and help change little brother’s diapers. It is the sweetest thing!

She is getting so much bigger (and taller!) right before our eyes, so we finally decided to work on her room upgrade a little more since she is becoming a “tween” much too quickly! I feel like we just updated her room, but then I realize that was 5 years ago! I figure I better update it now before she’s teenager and ready for an update again lol!

We started by adding a couple shelves for a little gallery wall for her. Adding these shelves allows us to quickly swap out her favorite prints over the years while also displaying art, family pictures or even books that she loves. We love this little spot in her room! You might remember that we used Desenio when we decorated the baby’s nursery, and we decided to use them again on Leighton’s room since we had such a great experience and loved the selection!

When searching for prints for her room, we decided to go with a fun (but not too young) animal theme. We got prints of a giraffe blowing a bubble, a lama unicorn, a zebra unicorn, a lemur with ice cream and cactus candy. I love how they turned out, and Leighton loves them too!

They had so many great prints to choose from, and you can even check out their children’s gallery wall inspiration here. They make it so easy to find prints that coordinate and are the same size. You can get them in so many different sizes and even add mats if you want. They made creating a gallery wall so easy!

Now we have Leighton’s bed, Desenio gallery wall and lounge corner in her room all updated and ready as she grows. I just have a few more things to update here and there and can’t wait to show y’all the finished product! Have you tried out Desenio? Are you updating your “tween’s” room?
