Healthy and Refreshing Summer Smoothie Recipe: Berry Almond Butter Smoothie

Shop the Post

With the weather warming up quickly, I thought it would be the perfect time to share one of my favorite summer smoothies! I don’t know about where y’all live, but it got so hot and humid here all of a sudden in Memphis! It has me needing a beverage in my hand much more often, especially a refreshing, cold smoothie! Keep reading for my berry almond butter smoothie recipe!

Not only is it cool and fruity and oh-so-yummy, but it is a great meal replacement choice! My favorite one is protein-packed with tons of good-for-you fruits in it, and it’s dairy free with no sugar added. It’s definitely a favorite of mine! If you’re not dairy free, you can definitely use milk. And you can substitute another fruit if you have one you like better than strawberries and blueberries.

Raspberries are super good in it too. And even add some lemon juice. Just play around with it and add different flavor combinations that you like until you find one that is your favorite. That is how I ended up with this berry almond butter smoothie. Keep reading below for the smoothie recipe. Try it out and let me know what you think. What’s your favorite smoothie?

Berry Almond Butter Smoothie Recipe

Berry Almond Butter Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 6 strawberries
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla flavored protein powder
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened almond butter
  • 5 ice cubes

Instructions

  • Gather ingredients, wash fruit and remove any leafs or steams.
  • Add 1 scoop of your protein powder of choice to your blender. I use vanilla flavor.
  • Add 1 cup of your favorite unsweetened almond milk to your blender. I choose regular almond milk, but some people love the vanilla flavor.
  • Add both of the fruits to your blender.
  • Add the almond butter to the blender.
  • Lastly, add in your ice.
  • Blend everything together. If it's too thick, add a little more milk or water. If you would prefer it thicker, add more ice. If it isn't sweet enough for you with the fruit in it, you can try adding more or you can add 1 tsp of maple syrup to it and blend.
  • Pour in your favorite cup and enjoy!
