quiche recipe

I have long been a fan of quiche ever since I was little, and I still love it just as much today. My mom made it when I was a kid, and it is definitely one of my favorite dishes. She passed her recipe onto me, and over the years I have tweaked it a bit to be gluten free with less dairy and less calories. And it is still so good!

My mom made several different quiches, but for some reason my favorite was always one with ham in it. Strangely enough, Ive never even been a big fan of ham. But in quiche, it has just the perfect taste to me. I really love the eggs, crust and spices to shine through, so I love that the ham isn’t too overpowering in the recipe. You can of course always add bacon or sausage instead if your prefer. You could also do all veggie.

I typically put onions and bell pepper in my quiche too, but Matt doesn’t like onion. Plus, I was out of bell peppers. So if you are a fan of those vegetables, dice them up and throw them in too. They are so good too! It’s nice to know that you don’t need all the bells and whistles to have a really good tasting and better for your quiche. Plus, it’s really quick and easy to make too!

I use a very small amount of cheese in this recipe, but you could also use dairy free cheese. Also, I use almond milk instead of heavy cream because I don’t eat much dairy, and it still works just as well. I also used a gluten free pie crust, but if you don’t want it to be gluten free, just buy a regular pie crust. I’m not going to lie though, this one from Wholly honestly tasted EXACTLY like the regular pie crusts, but it was gluten free. If you find this one, buy it! I definitely recommend it.
