A couple months ago, Matt and I drove to Huntington Beach, California on our way back from Yosemite National Park. I have family there, and it was so nice to stop and visit and check out the gorgeous coastal town. On our drive back, we decided to stay in Newport Beach. We absolutely loved Newport Beach! Newport Beach is located along the Pacific Ocean. There is an upper bay and a lower bay with islands and peninsulas sprinkled throughout. Newport Beach has several harbors with picturesque boats and homes. It is such a beautiful area!
While in Newport Beach for the night, we ate at the Dock. It is a pretty little restaurant on the water with great views, good service, amazing food and good wine and espresso. We sat outside and loved the views so much. It was very relaxing and just so dreamy overlooking the homes and boats along the water. I definitely recommend if you’re in the area. After dinner, we checked into Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach. This was our first time to the area and at this hotel too. We were really happy with everything there. First of all, we had the absolute best experience with the management at this hotel. They do an amazing job here and really care a lot about their guests.
They had several spots out front and back where you could sit and eat or enjoy a cup of coffee. By the way, they have great coffee! They have outdoor pools and a waterslide, and a spot where you can play life size chess. They also have a wonderful golf course on property. They really have so many amenities here, and honestly the place is super family friendly too. We ate breakfast at the hotel, and the food was great too. I also have to say this was the most comfortable bed on our entire road trip. It was wonderful!
If you’re planning on taking a trip to California, I would definitely try to add Newport Beach as a stop. It’s only an hour away from LA, but it has such a peaceful, picturesque vibe with a much slower pace here. I highly recommend! We definitely will be back and have so much more to explore here! Matt is a big fan of California. There are just so many unique views all across the state. Have you been to Newport Beach? What are your must stop places there?
