Our Spring Break trip was one of those vacations where everyone was happy — the kids had endless things to do, and the parents actually got to relax too. And that’s really the goal of a family vacation, right? If you’re planning a family trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama, I cannot recommend The Beach Club Resort & Spa enough! This was my second time to stay here in the last few years. After visiting Gulf Shores and Orange Beach for the last 30 years, I can confidently say this resort is amazing! Spectrum Resorts has 2 properties – The Beach Club Resort & Spa. Use code HIGHHEELS to save 10% off your rental rate at any of their properties including Turquoise Place in Orange Beach, Alabama. I am already planning a trip back next year and cannot wait! This resort is truly so family friendly as was one of the easiest and most relaxing places to travel with the kids. Check out more below.

Why We Love The Beach Club for a Family Vacation
This is the exact 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom condo we stayed in. It was huge. It had a full kitchen, 3 rooms and the living room has balconies, and it had a washer and a dryer.

What makes The Beach Club so different from other places we’ve stayed in Gulf Shores is that it’s not just a condo on the beach — it feels like a full resort. Once you get there, you really don’t have to leave because everything is right there. Some of the amenities we loved were:
- Private beach
- 5 outdoor pools and hot tubs
- Heated indoor pool
- On-site restaurants
- Ice cream shop
- Game room
- Tennis, pickleball, sand volleyball, giant Chess
- Walking trails
- Full spa
- Family activities and events weekly

There is truly something for everyone, which makes traveling with kids so much easier. One of my favorite things about staying here was the private beach. It never felt overcrowded, and it’s so nice not having to search for a spot or deal with huge public beach crowds. Reserve your beach chairs and umbrella, and you’re ready to go each morning.

If your kids are like mine, they could spend the entire trip just rotating between the pools, the beach, the indoor pool and the game room. There are 5 outdoor pools plus an indoor pool, which is great if the weather isn’t perfect. Being spring break, we had some windy and cooler weather, so I loved that we had so many options of things to do. And the indoor pool definitely came in handy. They also have tennis courts, walking trails (that are great for riding bikes and scooters on too) and family activities throughout the week. There was always something to do. The kids all loved making picture frames, art beach balls and shark tooth necklaces. I loved that the activities were something fun and different to break up the day and give them something unique to create.

One of the most underrated parts of staying here is the on-site dining. After a long beach or pool day, it is so nice not having to load everyone in the car and go find a restaurant. You can just walk to dinner at Coast, then grab ice cream, and then walk back to your room. Those are the little things that make a family trip feel easy instead of stressful, especially with 3 young kids. Another thing I love about The Beach Club is that there is a full spa on the property. It’s one of the few family resorts where it actually feels like both the kids and the parents get a vacation. If you can sneak away for a massage or facial while the kids are at the pool or with dad, I highly recommend it. Matt was pampered on this trip and had a full body massage one day. Not going to lie, I was totally jealous!

What I love most about The Beach Club is how easy the whole trip feels. You can spend the day at the beach, move to the pool in the afternoon, grab dinner on-site, get ice cream with the kids, and end the night with a walk around the property. There are swings on the backside of the property, and it’s the perfect place to just relax and enjoy the pretty sunset after a fun day. It’s relaxing, beautiful, family-friendly, and just one of those places that makes family vacation memories really special. We are already planning to book another trip back, and I have a feeling this is going to become one of our family traditions each year. I grew up with Gulf Shores being our yearly tradition, and I’m happy that I get to do that with my kids now too.
