Spring is one of my favorite times of year to get dressed because everything feels lighter, softer and a little more feminine again, yay! The fabrics get flowy, the colors get brighter, and there are so many reasons to wear a pretty dress — spring events, showers, brunch, church, garden parties, vacations and outdoor dinners. Seriously, the list just goes on and on. One color that I wear no matter the season is soft blue, but it’s especially fitting come spring. It’s classic, flattering and always feels so fresh this time of year. It’s one of those colors that looks good on almost everyone and works for so many different occasions. It is without a doubt my favorite spring hue.
Soft blue is one of those colors that never really goes out of style for spring. It feels light and airy like other pastels so, but it’s also classic and timeless. It’s so much softer than navy, but not as expected as pink or lavender, and I feel like this makes it so wearable for anything. Other colors I love for spring are butter yellow, blush pink, lavender or lilac and green. Spring is really the best time to wear color, and dresses are the easiest way to do that.
I spotted this pretty blue maxi dress over at Rent the Runway. I fell in love with all the feminine ruffles and the pretty soft blue color. I am wearing a size xs and love the fit of it. I usually size down one size when it comes to dresses that have smocking at the chest. This dress is one of those dresses you can wear over and over just by changing shoes and accessories. If I’m ever not sure what to wear in the spring, I almost always grab a dress. It’s the easiest way to look dressed up without actually trying that hard. One piece, add shoes and a bag, and you’re done. Spring dresses just always feel appropriate this time of year — whether it’s a school event, brunch with friends, church, a shower or a weekend trip. They’re easy, comfortable and always look put together. And if I had to pick one color I’ll keep wearing every spring, it would definitely be soft blue.
