Amelia’s 8th Birthday at Nail Bar & Co: Nail Salon Birthday Party for Tween Girls

Happy 8th birthday Amelia! Wow, time is flying by! What an honor it is to have had you in my life for 8 years! Amelia loves to color, dress up, wear her favorite gold boots (LOL), get pampered, be outdoors and ride roller coasters and waterslides. She is such a joy to be around, and I cannot believe it has been 8 years already! For Amelia’s 8th birthday, we skipped a big party and did something much more fun and right up her alley—a girls’ nail day with friends and family at Nail Bar & Co. And I can confidently say… it was one of our favorite birthdays yet! It felt so chill and relaxed, and it ended up being the perfect way to doll up and celebrate!

Why a Nail Salon Birthday Party Is Such a Good Idea for Girls

At this age, some girls are starting to outgrow the typical “kid party” but we still wanted something fun and special. A nail salon party hits that perfect in-between. I suggested a mani and pedi party to Amelia, and she immediately said “YES!” I knew immediately Nail Bar & Co would be perfect. They have a fun pink wall outside and hammocks, and the inside is filled with pretty florals and other girly details. I knew it would match Amelia’s vibes perfectly! Instead of planning games, activities, and a full party setup, the nail salon experience itself became the celebration. Win win!

A nail salon birthday party feels:

  • A little more grown up
  • Still age-appropriate
  • Fun without being overwhelming
  • relaxed so the birthday girl can actually soak up time with friends and fmaily
  • And most importantly… it keeps them entertained the entire time

What We Did for Amelia’s 8th Birthday

We kept everything really simple and let the experience be the main event. We booked a group appointment at Nail Bar & Co and the girls enjoyed:

  • Manicures
  • Pedicures
  • Picking out their own nail colors (which might have been their favorite part)
  • A special movie on the screen just for them
  • Yummy drinks
  • Cookies from Frost Bake Shop

It was so special watching Amelia and her friends chat, laugh and feel a little “grown up.” It was super relaxed, easy, meaningful, and the girls all looked just too big sitting there getting their nails done together!

Why I Loved Hosting a Birthday Party at Nail Bar Co

As a mom, this was one of the least stressful parties I’ve ever planned. No setup. No cleanup. No trying to entertain a group of kids for hours. A few things I loved:

  • Everything was already organized and ran smoothly
  • The space was clean, bright, and welcoming
  • The staff made the girls feel so special
  • I actually got to enjoy the party instead of managing it which was a mom win too

And Amelia absolutely loved every second of it—which is really what matters most!

Tips for Planning a Nail Salon Birthday Party for Kids

If you’re thinking about doing something similar, here are a few tips that helped us:

  • Book ahead – Weekend spots fill up quickly, especially for group appointments.
  • Keep the group smaller – This helps everything move more smoothly and keeps the experience relaxed.
  • Let them choose their nail colors – This was such a fun part for the girls and made it feel more personal.
  • Keep everything else simple – You really don’t need much beyond this—the experience speaks for itself.

A Simple and Special Way to Celebrate

Amelia’s 8th birthday felt like the perfect mix of fun, easy, and meaningful, and I would absolutely do a nail salon party again. Amelia actually had a nail salon birthday party when she turned 4 also. Check out the post and pictures here. Clearly this girl knows what she likes! She loved it so much she wanted to do it again. It’s so sweet seeing how much they have changed over the years from one party to the next. Cue the tears. If you’re looking for a birthday party idea for tween girls that’s different, low-stress, and still feels special, this is such a great idea! What are your kids’ favorite birthday parties they’ve had?
