When I had Grayson, something I was worried about was how the transition would be for Leighton and Amelia. You may already know that we are a blended family so this transition was a little different than when Matt and I got married.
I worried about how the girls would feel welcoming a sibling but on top of that, welcoming a baby brother into the family.
A tip I got from a lot of people was to have the baby “buy” a gift for their older siblings. After thinking on it for a while Matt and I decided this was definitely something we wanted to do for the girls, for a few reasons. For starters, we felt it was a great way to ease the older two into having a sibling. And secondly, these little gifts would make them feel really special, and it would give them something to do while Matt and I were busy with a newborn!
